Covenant Wellness leaders struggle pandemic

Dr. Mark Browne remembers the emotion he had in December when a truck pulled up to Parkwest Medical Middle with a batch of COVID-19 vaccines.

It was the initial glimpse of hope, a resource to fight the pandemic.

Browne, main medical officer of Covenant Wellness, and Debbi Honey, main nursing officer, worked jointly to help you save life. The pandemic has been the greatest test of their well being care careers.

The two of them make up the senior leadership staff at Covenant, the regional well being care network with nine hospitals and 1,500 affiliated medical professionals throughout East Tennessee. They are two of Knox.biz’s 2021 Overall health Treatment Heroes.

“This previous 16 months of the pandemic has been tense but has been the most worthwhile function of my occupation,” Browne told Knox News. “Collectively Debbi and I gave our all to our patients and team.”

Browne remembers waking up in the middle of the night in the early days of the pandemic, wondering if there was just about anything he might have missed at a time when so a lot was at stake.

“COVID-19 grew to become my overall day and night time, my everyday living essentially,” he explained. “I would wake up from my snooze and seize my notebook generating notes of everything in my head I couldn’t enable go of.”
