Oregon reports three new deaths, 289 new COVID-19 cases
As of 12:01 a.m. Saturday, the Oregon Health Authority had reported 289 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and three new COVID-19 related deaths.
The new cases bring Oregon’s total cases of COVID-19 to 206,578.
Thirty-four of the new cases were reported in Marion County. Polk County reported 12 new COVID-19 cases.
The number of cases reported by other counties was: Baker (1), Benton (5), Clackamas (32), Clatsop (6), Columbia (7), Crook (2), Curry (5), Deschutes (16), Douglas (15), Gilliam (4), Grant (2), Harney (1), Jackson (15), Jefferson (4), Josephine (13), Klamath (1), Lane (15), Lincoln (3), Linn (22), Malheur (4), Multnomah (36), Umatilla (4), Union (3), Wasco (5), Washington (20) and Yamhill (2).
The state’s new COVID-19 deaths bring its total death count to 2,753. The new deaths reported Saturday by OHA were:
- An 80-year-old Polk County man who tested positive on June 14 and died on June 18 at Salem Hospital. He had underlying conditions.
- A 96-year-old Lane County woman with underlying conditions who tested positive on June 14 and died on June 18 at her residence.
- A 73-year-old Douglas County woman who tested positive on June 13 and died on June 17 at Mercy Medical Center. She also had underlying conditions.
Six fewer people were hospitalized with COVID-19 on Saturday. 144 patients remain in hospitals across Oregon with COVID-19. There were 31 people in COVID-19 intensive care units, also six fewer than Friday.
As of Friday, 51,616 more people still need to get at least one vaccine dose for Oregon to reach a statewide vaccination goal of 70%.
On Saturday, the state’s weekly vaccination average was 13,855 doses per day. OHA said 2,349,356 people have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 as of Saturday.
The state administered 7,469 new doses of COVID-19 vaccines Friday and entered 6,201 doses into the registry that had been administered on previous days.
